The Opening Ceremony and Inauguration of the Institute of Allied Health Sciences was successfully held today with the participation of distinguished guests, healthcare professionals, academic staff, students, and well-wishers. The ceremony commenced with a formal welcome, followed by the traditional Lighting of the Oil Lamp, symbolizing knowledge, unity, and a new beginning in healthcare education. The event was honoured by the presence of our Chief Guest, Dr. Weerasiri Gunawardana, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, who delivered an inspiring address on professionalism, dedication, and compassionate healthcare service. The Director of Vavuniya Health Care (Pvt) Ltd, Dr. N. K. Kandeepan, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the vision behind establishing the Institute and its commitment to quality education and clinical excellence. The programme was introduced by Dr. Gajarishiyan Rasalingam, who highlighted the vision and mission of the Institute and its role in developing skilled and competent allied health professionals for the future healthcare system.
